June 21

Summertime isn't all about relaxing for teachers.  It gives us time to work on home projects we just don't get to during the school year.  Today my mom helped me re-pot plants and tidy up my container garden, which gave the patio a cleaner feel.  The doggies and I will be spending more time there in the coming weeks.  Thanks, Mom!

I'm ready to relax in my pool get-up:

June 23

This auntie got to spend time with her cutie pie of a nephew, sister and brother-in-law today at the fair.  Great day!!!

Another pool day:

June 25

I decided to push myself to go out for an early morning jog today.  It felt good, but it's been a looong time!

June 26

I took a field trip up to Temecula with my sister and some of my college amigas.  I think field trips without students are a lot less stressful and therefore more fun!

June 17

The doggies and I are back to our regular walks.  I like enjoying the sights of new plants and flowers, while they enjoy the smells and grass :)

June 18

You're looking at one tired, but happy teacher.  Bulletin boards are stripped, desks and chairs are stacked...school's out for the SUMMER!!!

June 19

I started the Soul Detox devotional today.  God knows my soul needs it.  I'm looking forward to the whole process...

June 20

Today was officially the first day of summer.  It was nice to spend time with my sister and nephew in Little Italy, where we chowed down on some pizza & lasagna at Filippi's and then devoured some pistachio gelato at a quaint cafe nearby.  I got to celebrate the start of summer with Mike and Roxy at home by enjoying some down time in the patio with some special treats.  I. Love. Summer.

June 14

Stressful days seem manageable when I slow down and enjoy a nice breakfast.  This is tough to do with the morning rush, but some Nutella on a toasted bagel and a chai tea latte were the perfect way to begin a long and stressful day:

June 15

This is what the last few minutes of the school year looked like in my classroom.  Hooray for the last day of school and summer vacation!!!

June 16

I was able to partake in some stress relief in the form of a paper crafting workshop today.  This was my favorite of the four projects we made:

Dinner involved slicing and dicing veggies to put in a salad:

I've been on the lookout for dandelions ever since I decided that they reminded me of golf balls on tees. . .

June 5

Today was a long day, but I was able to make it to the polls just before closing...

June 6

I love it when students learn and succeed!!!

June 7

This teacher is a snacker :)

June 8

A chic coffeehouse, Mexican mocha and a Caprese sandwich helped make today just a little less stressful...

Saturday mornings sometimes include the funny, sweet and charming Gidget:

June 1

Now this is a great holiday to celebrate!  I gladly participated in this holiday for the first time this year.  My sweet tooth thanked me ;)

June 2

I had a wonderful time with some girlfriends at a matinee showing of Snow White and the Huntsman.  I also enjoyed my Kids Pack and a treat at Starbucks afterward.  I love these girls!

June 3

This was taken at yesterday's pre-birthday celebration for my mom.  Hello Kitty is too stinking cute. :)

June 4

I'm loving my purchases from Friday's visit to the Queen Bee Market.  I love supporting handmade and am looking forward to gifting some of these cute goodies. . .

This auntie had a blast with her nephews and niece over the holiday weekend!

There's something about having a full tank that makes me feel like I'm going places.  Maybe it's because lately filling up is not as easy on the wallet as it used to be!

May 30

A recent trip to Trader Joe's led to this:

Having family support our fundraiser at our school carnival was so much fun.  I love my familia (:
